This project took an existing homeowners association clubhouse and recreational facility and converted it to a single family residence and guest house. All of the building components were prefabricated offsite, transported, and then erected in place. The large overhangs and traditional cold roof protect the building from the heavy snowfall the town of Crested Butte sees each year. The house is nestled around natural wetlands which were preserved, and uses natural materials without applied finishes to form a natural patina.
This custom single family residence has a prefabricated metal structure that allows the house to be carefully fitted into the existing wetlands found on the site. This project also features a raised outdoor terrace, custom steel fabrications, and custom millwork pieces.
